Welcome to the Ankeny Community School District website. I hope you find it informative and easily accessible. I also hope you gain a sense of the pride we have in our schools.
Ankeny’s staff includes approximately 1,400 members who are committed and dedicated to our mission: Ankeny Community Schools is unified in its commitment, passion and vision so every learner is prepared to achieve a lifetime of personal success.
For the 2015-2016 academic year, we will educate over 10,500 students, where each child has their own abilities, aspirations, and dreams. Consequently, it’s the vision of our district to help all students receive a first-class education where they are preparing to be successful beyond high school.
During the past five years, we have reviewed, developed and implemented new curriculum in the areas of mathematics, literacy, writing, science, and social studies. We understand the 21st century will provide new challenges to our students as they leave our schools and take their next steps. Accordingly, we have adopted new curricula that are rigorous and relevant to address these challenges.
Activities, arts and athletics are the final components we believe are necessary to provide a comprehensive education. We invite Ankeny students to be involved in our extra-curricular/co-curricular programs, as we believe these are part of the “Ankeny Experience.”
On behalf of the Board of Education, welcome to Ankeny Schools. Please join us as we work together to ensure that all students are learning and achieving to their highest potential.
