Randy and his wife Jan have lived in Ankeny for 20 years. They have two daughters who are graduates of the Ankeny Community School System. Randy served as an elementary school principal at East, Terrace and Crocker elementary schools in Ankeny for 18 years. He has 35 years of educational experience with 31 years served as a principal. He continues to serve on various local and statewide educational committees. Randy is also a retired Lt. Colonel in the Iowa Air National Guard with 34 years of service. He has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Education from Drake. Randy received a Certificate of Advanced Studies at Iowa State for School Superintendent certification. Currently, Randy owns a small business in Ankeny. He is serving on his first term as a School Board member. |

Paula Pearson -------------------------------------------------Term Expires: 2008 Paula, a 22-year resident of Ankeny, is raising three children with her husband; Doug. Dan and Tim are recent Ankeny High School graduates and Rachel is in tenth grade. Paula is a CPA and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. She has over 17 years of business experience, including 10 years in the audit and tax departments at the public accounting firm of Ernst & Young. Paula is a founding director and past president of the Ankeny School Foundation. She has served as a representative to the Ankeny Booster Club and past Treasurer of the Terrace Elementary PTO. |

Leslie Petersen ------------------------------------------------Term Expires: 2008 Leslie Petersen and her husband, Jon, have two children both of whom attend Northeast Elementary. Leslie is a lifelong resident of Ankeny and a 1988 graduate. Her husband Jon is a 1986 graduate. She is a Financial Controller for the Principal Financial Group. Leslie completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at Drake University, majoring in Accounting. She holds a CPA license. Leslie is a former board member of the Young Women’s Resource Center where she also served as Treasurer and was a past President. Leslie is a member of the AICPA and ISCPA. |

Denny Presnall ------------------------------------------------- Term Expires: 2008 Denny Presnall and his wife, Bev, have three sons; Casey, Brian and Sean. They have lived in the Ankeny area for 18 years. Denny is currently the Executive Director, Secretary-Treasurer of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. He also serves as the Secretary of the Farm Bureau Life Company and Farm Bureau Mutual Company. Denny is a Board Member of the Iowa Athletic Association Board of Control, representing the Iowa Association of School Boards, and is also a member of the Valley Bank Board of Directors. Also, he has been a member of the East Elementary Parent Advisory Committee, the Superintendent's Advisory Committee, and the Board of Directors of the North Central Regional Education Laboratory. Denny has served on the Board since 1993. |

George Tracy has been a resident of Ankeny for 41 years. He and his wife Pat have been married for 47 years and have two children who graduated from Ankeny. Kevin {Class of 1979} and Renee {Class Of 1982}. They also have a Granddaughter Sheena who graduated from Ankeny {Class Of 2005} and have a grandson Dominic who is a sixth grader at Parkview Middle School. George and Pat have seven grandchildren. George is an Account manager for Blue Bunny Ice Cream and Dairy Products. George started his Grocery career with Campbell Soup Company in 1967 through 1973. George was in the Food Brokerage business for 27 years and was President the last 15 years with The Sales Force Companies. He also served on The Sales Force Companies Corporate Board. He served on Food Companies Broker Advisory Boards such as Jolly Time Popcorn, Welch Foods, and Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee. He was President of the Iowa Grocers Association twice {1985 and 1993}. He is presently serving as Treasurer of the Iowa Grocers Education Foundation Board. George officiated Football, Basketball, and Softball for 25 years and was elected to the Officials Hall Of Fame in Basketball and Softball. |

Members of the Board of Education are elected at large for three-year terms. They receive no pay for their services. Your School Board has complete and final control over local school matters within limits set by laws and regulations. |
