The Ankeny Alumni Association took on a project in 1998 with Harris Publishing Company to produce an all-alumni directory. The publisher was furnished a class list for each of the 84 graduating classes from Ankeny -- 1914 through 1998. With this they developed a database in which entries of each graduate could be placed.
In 1999, there were over 1200 copies of the directory ordered. At the time of the publication, we received a database computer program in which addresses could be updated by the class recorders. The program also has capabilities to print labels for each class. The Alumni Association likes the idea of having a database for all alumni so if a classmate's address has become lost, perhaps a sister's or brother's address and phone number would be available for us to contact for information.
