ANKENY, Iowa (November 17, 2015) - Ankeny Community Schools would like to congratulate Ankeny teacher and Ankeny High School alumna Chelsey Blough on her induction into the Iowa Girls' High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) Hall of Fame.  Blough was honored at the state volleyball tournament in Cedar Rapids on November 13.

Blough is a third grade teacher at Westwood Elementary and graduated from AHS in 2009.  While on the AHS volleyball team, Blough was a two-time first-team all-state selection, and was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2008. She assisted the team to two state championships in 2005 and 2008.  As a senior, Blough had 13 kills in the championship match, completing a 40-1 season. She was named captain of the all-tournament team.

“We would like to congratulate Chelsey,” said Amy Dittmar, Westwood principal. “The same dedication and commitment she has shown on the volleyball court, she shows in her classroom every day.”
