ACHS Students Score High Marks on Foreign Language Exams

ANKENY, Iowa (May 26, 2016) - Ankeny Centennial High School French and Spanish students earned high marks recently on the National French Exam (Le Grand Concours) and the National Spanish Exam administered each spring.

The optional exams allow students to be recognized for their outstanding modern language skills at the state and national levels.

Congratulations to all the students participating in this challenging exam.

The 2016 National French Exam is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.
 
"French students who rank nationally in Le Grand Concours demonstrate a superior level of global responsibility, integrative cultural competence, language skills, and commitment to excellence and dedication," said Catherine Danièlou, American Association of Teachers of French President.
 
The National Spanish Exam is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese and is administered every spring. Students in grades 6 through 12 are eligible.  

“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams. “Exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 157,000 students participating in 2016.”
