400.24 Copyright Law
The District shall abide by federal copyright laws. Unless copying falls within the “fair use” guidelines in §107 of the Copyright Act, copyrighted materials, be they in print, non-print, or electronic, may not be duplicated or reproduced without prior written permission or other license agreements. District equipment may not be used to duplicate or reproduce copyrighted materials without prior written permission.
Employees who violate copyright law do so at their own risk and assume all liability and responsibility. Any staff violation may result in discipline in accordance with appropriate Board policies, administrative procedures, and law.
The Superintendent/designee shall develop regulations to assist staff in complying with the copyright law and “fair use” exclusions.
