400.42 Credit Cards

The District may maintain a District credit card for actual and necessary expenses incurred by employees and officers in the performance of their duties. The Superintendent may maintain a District credit card for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of the Superintendent’s duties. The finance director may maintain a District credit card for fueling District transportation vehicles in accordance with Board policy.

At the Superintendent/designee’s discretion, employees may be provided with access to a District credit card for use related to the actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of work-related duties. The Superintendent/designee will develop administrative regulations regarding actual and necessary expenses and use of a District credit card and procedures for reporting expenses incurred on it.

It is the responsibility of the Superintendent/designee to determine whether the District credit card use is for appropriate District business. It is the responsibility of the Board to determine through the audit and approval process of the Board whether the District credit card used by the Superintendent and the Board is for appropriate District business.
