401.40 Compensation
The Board shall establish compensation for employees’ positions aligned with the District’s financial condition, the District’s educational philosophy, the employee’s education and experience, and other factors it shall deem relevant. The Superintendent/designee shall make an annual recommendation to the Board regarding employee compensation. Classified and certified staff shall be paid pursuant to the pertinent collective bargaining agreements. The Board is obligated to pay employees the negotiated rates and may not deviate unless the language in the collective bargaining agreement provides that discretion.
