405.40 Dismissal – Classified

The Board expects classified employees to perform job functions, follow Board policy, and obey the law. A classified employee may be dismissed with two weeks notice or discharged immediately. The Superintendent/designee has the authority to terminate the services of any classified employee. The employment is considered “at will”. Therefore, a classified employee may be terminated for any reason, including, but not limited to, incompetence, willful neglect of duty, reduction in force, willful violation of Board policy or administrative regulations, or violation of the law. The employee has 10 days after notice of the termination to request a hearing before the Board if he/she so desires, and the Board may reinstate the employee or uphold the dismissal.
