The District will implement a summer school program to provide support under the Department of Education mandates for third grade retention.  The mandatory program will be offered to students based on state-determined student achievement data.  The Superintendent/designee will develop administrative rules in support of this program.

The District may implement other summer learning programs designed to enrich and extend the educational program beyond the standard curriculum provided during the regular academic year and/or to provide remedial education for those students whose achievement data shows need additional support and/or instruction in specific curricular areas.

The District may charge a fee for participation in these programs.
