Ankeny Community School District staff assigns homework for extra-class activities and assignments, which may properly be considered as extensions and enrichment of the regular classroom instruction. Types of homework assigned may include:

• Research & exploration activities
• Independent reading
• Investigating technology & media resources
• Sharing & discussing ideas
• Reviewing & summarize materials studied
• Organizing thoughts & thinking processes important for classroom activities
• Practicing skill development and making up incomplete courses in subject assignments
• Homework should be assigned to directly correlate with what is being taught in the classroom.
