803.91 Use of District Vehicles for Commuting

The use of district-owned, district-leased or district-rented vehicles and/or equipment (i.e., technology, audiovisual, furniture, etc.) by school district employees or the loan of school district vehicles/equipment to non-school personnel and/or outside groups shall be limited to school district business and related school district interests only. In no event shall school district vehicles or equipment be used by school employees or loaned to any non-school personnel and/or outside groups for private or personal gain.

In the event that an appropriate administrator authorizes the loan of school district vehicles/equipment to non-school personnel and/or outside groups, as being in the school district’s interest, the vehicles/equipment shall be operated and/or supervised by appropriate school district personnel.

If an employee uses a district-provided vehicle to commute to and from work, the employee will have an in-kind payment added to their gross daily income for each day the vehicle is provided as permissible by the Internal Revenue Service.
