  • Wednesday Late Start School Days

Ankeny Schools start one hour later on Wednesdays. Late starts allow time before school for teachers to collaborate with one another for the purpose of improved student achievement; develop techniques that can be immediately carried to the classroom to improve student learning; and train in research-based best practices. This can also be a good time to address family needs like scheduled medical and dental appointments.

It may be necessary for students to take medication during the school day. All medication must be brought to the nurse’s office along with a signed permission form, which is available from the school nurse.
