Text Messaging

  • Ankeny Community School District will begin using text messages for the 2018-2019 school year to keep you informed of weather-related school delays and cancellations.  The cell phone numbers entered in Infinite Campus will be the numbers used for weather-related texts.

    When text messaging is activated, you will begin receiving texts.  There's no need to opt-in, however you may opt-out if you prefer.  Please note, you will still receive an email for weather-related notifications.

    Question:

    How do I opt-in to receive text messages from Ankeny Schools?

    Answer:

    The numbers listed for your child(ren) in Infinite Campus will receive text messages.  There is no opt-in process.  

    Question:

    How do I opt-out?

    Answer:

    You may opt-out at any time by texting “STOP ANKENY.”  You will receive the following reply: You are now confirmed to stop receiving text messages.  More info, text reply “HELP” or go email sms@blackboardconnect.com.  

    Please note, if you opt-out of text messaging, you are opting-out of ALL text messaging including weather-related notifications.

    Question:

    What if I opted-out, but later decide I would like to opt-in again?

    Answer:

    You may request to begin receiving text messages by texting “SUBSCRIBE ANKENY” to 23177, 63079, 82932, 53291, or 91841.

    Question:

    Who pays for the text messages I receive on my phone?

    Answer:

    You are subject to all applicable messaging charges depending on your service provider. Standard message and data rates may apply.
