Ms. Stephanie Berg
6th Grade Social Studies
Hello! My name is Stephanie Berg and I teach 6th grade Ancient Civilizations here at Parkview. I graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in History and Social Studies Secondary Education. After graduating, I taught 6th grade Ancient Civilizations, 8th grade U.S. History, 8th grade World Geography, and 11th grade American history. Wanting to expand my knowledge of ancient history, I completed a masters in archaeology in Chicago, Illinois. During this program, I lived and excavated in Israel for 6 1/2 months with Wheaton College and Harvard University. My excavation experiences have focused mainly on the sanctuaries of Greece and the monumental architecture of Rome.
My favorite grade and subject to teach has always been 6th grade Ancient History. In my spare time I love to dig in the dirt (never grew out of playing in the sandbox), read, sew (or at least attempt...), jog, cook, and travel! I am easily amused, which makes teaching 6th graders very entertaining and memorable. I am looking forward to having another wonderful year exploring ancient cultures! Oh! If any students are interested in learning more about archaeology, Greek, or Latin--I teach expeditions throughout the school year that focus on these areas!
