Head Varsity Coach: Coach Delaney

I'm Coach Delaney and I teach 8th and 9th grade physical education and health at Northview Middle School. I am also the head varsity softball coach. I was brought to Ankeny in 2008 because of the incredible opportunities and resources available for fostering students’ personal growth and development.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the Ankeny Centenniall Jaguars Softball program.

I grew up on the south side of Ankeny in a little town know as Carney.  After graduating from Saydel Community Schools I went on to study at one of the most prestigious universities in the country, Central College.  I chose to become a physical education and health teacher because I love people, I enjoy the kids, I love to inspire and I need to be active.

When I am not teaching or coaching softball, I am spending my time with my family.  My wife and I have three lovely girls.  These three keep us very busy and very happy. Outside of school and family, I enjoy being as active as possible. I enjoy running, playing golf, playing slow pitch softball, watching sports, and spending time with my family.  I am a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Chicago Cubs.

I’m Coach Stolte and I am entering my second season with the ACHS softball program as the head JV and assistant varsity softball coach. Besides spending time on the diamond with the Jaguars in the summer, I work for Hy-Vee Corporate as their KidsFit Program Coordinator.

I grew up in a small town just north of Ankeny known as Huxley. As a Ballard Bomber, I spent a majority of my time playing basketball, volleyball, softball, and I was part of our Student Council and National Honor Society as well. In 2012, my softball team was also lucky enough to hoist the trophy in Fort Dodge.

After high school, I continued my education and softball career at Simpson College. I graduated in 2018 with a degree in Sports Administration. I chose this area of study because of my passion for athletics, and the ability to help build programs where people can fulfill their dreams and build life-long relationships. I initially came to Ankeny Centennial High School through a summer internship within our activities department, but this is when my interest in coaching began.

My personal athletic experiences are something I hold near to my heart, and the lessons I learned from them have helped shape me into the person I am today. I believe softball has so much more to teach us in life than just how to throw a ball or swing a bat. I know how important it is for high school female athletes to have the best mentor possible, both on and off the field. Within our program, I strive to create an environment where our girls feel they can grow as athletes, but more importantly as people.

There is so much to look forward to with our Ankeny Centennial softball program. Go Jags!

I'm Coach Liz, and I am entering my first year of coaching with ACHS. I am graduating from Wartburg College in May 2019 with an Elementary Education degree. I will also be wrapping up my final softball season as a Wartburg Knight at that time.

Growing up near/ in Ankeny I have always been drawn to the district and the opportunities it provides for students. I graduated from Saydel High School and participated in a variety of extra curricular activities. Volleyball, basketball, track, softball, cheerleading, and FCA were how I chose to spend my time then, and continue many of the same activities now. In my spare time I enjoy being as active as I can by running, slow pitch softball, basketball, swimming and golfing with my family.

I have so many great memories, friendships, mentorships, and experiences playing this sport I love. My role will be to guide and assist each athlete in areas where they can grow and learn, not only in their athletic ability, but also in their lives. I intend to provide all of our athletes an  empowering, motivating, and successful environment that builds a sense of family within this team.

I am so excited to get started! Go Jags!
