News Media Inquiries
One of the goals of our Communications Department is to assist our news media partners and help facilitate the flow of information where possible.
There are several advantages to making our Communications Department your first point of contact:
- We can direct your inquiry to the right person or department much more quickly.
- If certain people or resources are not available at the time of your call, we can often find other avenues for you.
- We can help to ensure that any students involved in your story have the appropriate parental permissions.
- Communications Department participation ensures that school board policies are followed.
The Ankeny Community School District requests that all media inquiries begin with the Communications Department. Please do not directly contact principals or staff at individual buildings.
Due to the large number of media requests we receive, it is necessary for the Communications Department to manage the process in order to protect the student instructional day and minimize disruption of student learning.
