Last Call: Board Committee Applications
The Ankeny Community School District (ACSD) offers a number of opportunities for parents, students, staff, and community members to work together to shape the district’s direction. Serving on the Ankeny Board of Education committee is one way to make this kind of impact.
The Ankeny Board of Education has two committees that advise and make recommendations to the Board of Education. Both of these committees hold meetings that are open to the public and subject to open meeting laws. The committee terms will begin in August 2023.
- Facilities/Finance Advisory Committee – This committee considers best practices in school finance, district business strategies, long-range planning for facilities, and other elements of facility development and construction to make sound recommendations to the Board.
- Meets at 4:30 pm on the second Thursday of the month
- Board Representation: Aaron Johnson, Joshua Palik, and Amy Tagliareni
- Policy Advisory Committee – The Policy Advisory Committee reviews and recommends changes to district policies. Changes recommended by the committee are presented to the Board of Directors for approval.
- Meets at 4:30 pm on the first Thursday of the month
- Board Representation: Sarah Barthole and Katie Claeys
If you are interested in serving on a board committee, please complete and submit this brief application by 5:00 p.m. central on February 17, 2023. The Ankeny Board of Education will review your application and follow up with any next steps by early March.
