Victoria Nicholas Named Principal of Prairie Trail Elementary
The Ankeny Community School District is pleased to announce that Victoria Nicholas has been selected as the next principal of Prairie Trail Elementary. Nicholas, who serves as Prairie Trail Elementary’s assistant principal, will officially assume her new role on July 1, 2025.
Nicholas brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the Prairie Trail community. As assistant principal, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a passion for student success, and a dedication to fostering strong relationships with staff, students, and families. The interview team highlighted her clear commitment to Prairie Trail, her ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and her strong instructional leadership.
Nicholas has served as the assistant principal of Prairie Trail Elementary since 2022 and previously worked as the school administration manager from 2020 to 2022. Her career in education began as a second and fourth-grade teacher at Crocker Elementary, where she later became an instructional coach serving both Crocker Elementary and Westwood Elementary.
Her academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with Principal Licensure from the University of Iowa (2021), a Master’s Degree in Teacher Effectiveness and Professional Development from Drake University (2017), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa (2012).
