We want to make sure you have the professional support, resources and leadership development opportunities you need to be successful.
New Hire Orientation:
Once you receive your formal offer of employment, our Human Resources team will reach out to you regarding your orientation date.
For new teachers, counselors, nurses, specialists, and social workers, virtual orientation will be on June 9, June 22, and July 18 (pick one to attend).
Preservice for new ACSD teachers
August 10, 11 and August 15-16 (2022-2023 school year)
Preservice provides critical information on ACSD and district initiatives for new-to-ACSD teachers and administrators.
During Preservice, new-to-ACSD educators engage in professional learning, network with various district stakeholders, and establish a mentoring partnership with their respective mentors and mentoring groups. This required week of professional learning focuses on supporting new teachers in getting acquainted with curricula, district practices, and district systems. In addition, the week’s professional learning sessions support attendees by providing context for further learning throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you and kicking off what we hope is a long and fulfilling career with Ankeny Community School District.
