Special Education Amy Kirkpatrick

Hello! My name is Amy Kirkpatrick. This is my 2nd year as the Behavior Interventionist at Southview Middle School. I spent my four years of teaching in a similar position for Des Moines Public Schools.

I am from a small town outside of Cedar Rapids. I graduated from Prairie High School and then went to Kirkwood Community College for two years to get my Associates Degree in 2013. I graduated from Mount Mercy University in 2016 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Then, I went on to add my Masters in Special Education (Strat I & II) in May 2019. I currently live in Elkhart with my son Ben, daughter Ellie, and dog Hali!

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, creating digital photo books, practicing my cake decorating skills, listening to music, painting, going for walks or to the park with my family.
