Science Charles Knight

Hello!

My name is Charlie Knight and I teach 9th Grade Earth Science and Enriched Earth Science at Northview Middle School.

I grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa and worked as a geologist for six years before becoming a teacher at Northview in 2012. During college and my career, I was involved in geology-related projects that included snowmobiling into mountains to collect core samples from lakes, exploring and mapping some of the longest caves in the world, and working on a gold exploration project in a remote jungle area in South America. I try to use my experiences to emphasize the importance of developing technology and literacy skills and excite students about the opportunities education can open up for them.

My wife, Adrianne, and I have three daughters. In my free time, I love to go camping with my family.
