Instructional Coach Chris Allen

Chris Allen has been teaching in the Ankeny school district since 2006. He transferred to Ankeny Centennial as an English Language Arts teacher and girls soccer coach when the school opened in 2012. Prior to teaching in Ankeny, he graduated from Buena Vista University (2002) and taught at Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn in Iowa. While teaching in Ankeny, he earned his Master of Arts in Education through Viterbo University (2009).

Mr. Allen has served as an instructional coach and teacher since 2014. In these roles, he  supports the learning and growth of both students and colleagues in Ankeny. He relishes the opportunity to continue to experience the challenges and successes of the classroom with his students and the chance to intentionally collaborate with and support his peers.

Mr. Allen enjoys coaching, competition, traveling, running, biking, reading, and pursuing personal growth. Most of all though, he enjoys time spent with his wife and three children–much of this time is spent enjoying the aforementioned activities together.
