Teacher Irasemma Gonzalez

Hello! I am Irasemma Gonzalez (or Em for short), and I am the art teacher at Northwest Elementary. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in the summer of 2023 with my bachelor’s degree in art education.

My goals are to teach students how to express themselves and be creative by experimenting and finding ways to connect with their artworks as well as others.  I hope to show students that art is way more than just something fun – it is a form of expression, a way to connect with yourself and others, and so much more! Art has taught me to open up about myself and be comfortable with who I am as a person. I can’t wait to help my students become more in tune with themselves and learn more about the art world!
