ML- Spanish Jennifer Aguirre

Hola!  My name is Jennifer Aguirre. I have been teaching Spanish since 1999 and have been in Ankeny since 2006.  I have a BA from Central College where I double majored in Cultural Anthropology and Spanish.  I also have a Masters from the University of Iowa in Spanish Education and an endorsement in Talented and Gifted Education.  I enjoy teaching and sharing my love of language, culture, and learning with my students.  I intend to challenge my students to set personal goals and explore new ways of looking at the world around them.  I also hope to instill in them a passion for lifelong learning and a curiosity for learning about and understanding people, perspectives and cultures different from their own.  I am a proud graduate of Ankeny High School many years ago :-) and feel blessed to be living and working in such an amazing community of dedicated students, teachers, parents, and other professionals.  My husband is also a teacher and works in Des Moines in middle school special education.  We have four children and a dog.  I enjoy music and dance, as well as watching my children play sports and participate in other activities.  Each year I look forward to meeting my new students as well as catching up with all the wonderful students I had the opportunity to get to know in prior years.  I am also the Spanish Club advisor and the National Spanish Honor Society sponsor.  Please feel free to reach out to me at any time with questions and/or concerns.
