ML- Spanish Lisa Dowell

Hello!  I am Lisa Dowell and have been teaching Spanish at Southview since 2018.  I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa in Spanish Education and Math Education in 2002 and have spent my entire career teaching in Ankeny at the 8th/9th grade level.  When my own children were young I took a few years off of teaching full time, but worked as a substitute teacher in the district.  I have a master’s degree in Effective Teaching from Drake University and recently completed my endorsement in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

My husband and I love raising our three children in Ankeny (I’m an Ankeny Hawk by day….but Centennial Jaguar by night) and enjoy traveling as much as possible.
