Special Ed Teacher Richelle Jones

My name is Richelle Jones and I am a special education teacher at Northeast Elementary. I have been teaching in Ankeny since 2000, with the majority of my years at Northeast. I have three children, Calea, Kellen, and Kyler and two dogs, Mazie and Murphy. I have a Master’s Degree in special education from Morningside College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from The University of Iowa.

In my free time I enjoy watching sports (especially the Iowa Hawkeyes), reading books, playing golf, and mostly spending time with my family and friends. I love working with kids and enjoy building positive relationships with them. One of my favorite parts of my job is watching students finally gain confidence in something that they have struggled with in the past. It is the most rewarding career!
