Math Megan Jones

Welcome to Parkview!  My name is Megan Jones.  My husband and I live in Ankeny with our three children.  I am a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education (Elementary Education) and an emphasis in Mathematics.  I also received my Reading Endorsement from Iowa State.  During the summer of 2009, I completed my Master’s Degree from Viterbo University focusing on continuing education and reading. Before coming to Parkview, I taught fourth grade at Northeast for seven years and Rock Creek for four years.  I started at Parkview teaching Core Plus More Math in the Fall of 2018.

I have several key beliefs about education that guide all I do in our classroom.  First, school should be a safe place where the child feels comfortable and confident.  Our classroom is structured around respect and responsibility to help support this belief.  Second, students should take an active role in the learning process.  Students will be challenged to make connections and apply new information to provide a purpose and relevance.  Finally, I believe meeting the personal needs and learning styles of each student is essential in quality education.  I try to utilize a balance of learning methods in the classroom in order to meet all learning styles.
