Instructional Coach Melissa Iloabachie
Hello! My name is Melissa Iloabachie (E-low-ah-bah-chee) and I have the pleasure of serving as an instructional coach for Ankeny Schools. My teaching career started out as an elementary teacher and since then I have served as an instructional coach at one of our 6/7 buildings for 5 years and am currently serving in one of our high schools as an instructional coach. I’m passionate about creating relevant, rigorous, and equitable learning experiences for all students so that they may achieve a lifetime of personal success. Being an instructional coach allows me to collaborate with teachers and administrators to create a safe learning environment where all can feel valued, appreciated, and vulnerable with areas for improvement and growth.
My husband and I live in Ankeny with our young daughter. We moved here from Houston, Texas in 2012 as I am a native Iowan and wanted to raise children back here in Iowa closer to my family. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, friends, baking, bike riding, reading, crafting, and traveling.
I’m so fortunate to be able to do what I do and serve in the different grade spans that I have for Ankeny Schools. I enjoy seeing different sides of our K-12 system and hope to make a positive impact for how we can make our school system the best it can be for all of our students K-12.
