Principal Sheila Schmidt

My name is Sheila Schmidt and I am the principal at Terrace Early Learning Center and I am truly honored to serve the students, staff and families within the entire Ankeny community.

I have a degree in Elementary Education, a Masters in Special Education and an Advanced Studies Certification in Educational Leadership Principalship. I have been in the educational setting for approximately 30 years. Additionally, I have spent the past 6 years as an educational leader in the role of Principal at Marshall Elementary in Dubuque, IA and Farley Elementary in Farley, IA.  Education has been my life dedication and children are my passion.

My husband Todd and my three adult children, Julia, Carter, and Megan recently relocated to Ankeny from our home of 18 years in Dubuque, IA.  We are all enjoying exploring our new city and all the fabulous restaurants.  We love our time together and we love to eat!!  I need to mention our other two family members Louie (shih-poo) and Murphy (goldendoodle).  They are defiantly Schmidts and spoiled every day.

I am excited to meet all our families and look forward to partnering together to have a great school year!
