Science Taylor Hubbard

Hi. I’m Mr. Hubbard. I teach science at Ankeny High School. I also help coach 8th grade boys’ cross country, 8th grade girls’ basketball, and 8th grade boys’ basketball.

I have undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Iowa and a degree in school counseling from Drake University. I started teaching at Ankeny in 2007. Before that I taught at an international school in Hong Kong for eleven years. I have also taught in the Lynnville-Sully and Southeast Marshall County school districts in Iowa, and one year my wife (Mari) and I taught English in China.

I enjoy teaching and coaching because I like watching the growth of individual students, classes, or teams over the course of the year or season. Teaching is also a great way to keep learning. I learn a lot from my students and their parents, as well as the other teachers I work with. Plus, there are always new things going on in science to keep up on.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, running, and watching basketball. Mari and I have two children, Paul and Sarah, both of whom graduated from Ankeny High School.
