Enter the student’s home address including city and click the search button to get assigned schools; or click the map to get assigned schools at any location.
Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of this tool. The school district reserves the right to make final school assignment determinations. If you have any questions contact the district registrar at 289-8955 to help ensure correct information.
Secondary School Walking Zone Boundaries
Ankeny Community Schools is pleased to be able to offer a free transportation program for those who qualify. Transportation eligibility is determined by two primary factors: (1) the distance of residency to the school building which your child attends, and (2) the safest, most passable route for a child to either walk or bike as suggested by the Safe Routes to School Program.
On the maps below, residences within the blue shaded areas do not qualify for busing and are designated “walking zones.”
Residences within the red shaded areas would not normally qualify for transportation, but due to lack of a safe route (sidewalks, controlled intersection devices, crossing guards, etc.) currently qualify for transportation. As infrastructure is further developed (sidewalks, controlled intersection devices, crossing guards, etc.) the areas shown in red will shrink and be designated as “walking zones.” As this occurs, families in these areas will receive further notification indicating ridership eligibility/ineligibility.
