The school district guidance program is divided into four separate categories, including counseling services, information services, appraisal services and placement services. Each of these categories is interdependent and assists students with their personal educational and career development and in becoming well-rounded, productive adults. Confidentiality is maintained by the employees involved in the guidance program. All high school students are assigned a counselor based on the first letter of their last name. Students work with the guidance department for the purpose of registration, scheduling and student records. Although students are encouraged to work with their assigned counselor, students are free to work with any counselor that is available. Counselors are available by appointment during normal school hours. Counselors may also be available after school hours at designated times during the school year.
