Mr. Jason Dagel

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!  I currently teach special education at Ankeny Centennial High School.  I coteach Algebra 2 with Mrs. O'Louglin and Mr. Stevens, Chemistry with Mr. Hey, and Lit 12 with Mrs. Bakke.  This is my sixteenth year in the Ankeny schools and my nineteenth year of teaching overall (my first three were spent in Montezuma, Iowa).  I am certified to teach German, American History and World History in addition to Special Education.

I earned my undergraduate degree in History and German from Central College in 1999.  While a student at Central, I participated in the Vienna Study Abroad Program, studying at the Goethe Institute in Prien am Chiemsee, Germany as well as the Dolmetsch Institute and the University of Vienna in Vienna, Austria.  I then completed my graduate degree in Special Education in 2006 at Iowa State University

Outside of school, I like to spend time with my daughter Annika and my wife Jessica.  I am also a member of the Methodist Church handbell choir (I play the largest bells) and enjoy tennis, biking, hiking, and golf.  I love to travel and spend many of my breaks from school moving about the county or traveling internationally.

If you need to contact me, the best way is to use email (jason.dagel@ankenyschools.org).  You may also call me at the school at 965-9610, but you will rarely catch me in my office as I keep quite busy.  I am at school most days by 7:00 AM and don't usually leave until 4:30, but always check with me to make sure I don't have meetings before coming in to see me!
