Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kelcy Lofgren
Language Arts Teacher
Welcome! My name is Kelcy Lofgren, and I graduated from the University of Iowa in 1993 with a degree in English Education. After teaching for several years, I returned to graduate school and earned a master’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Northern Iowa. In 2004, I became a National Board Certified Teacher, and I recertified in 2014. I have taught many different levels, from seventh grade to postsecondary courses. I am very excited to be part of the staff at Centennial High School!
Teaching is a privilege; I enjoy working with young people and introducing them to great works of literature, different styles of writing, and various communication studies. The best part of my job is the students, and I strive to make a positive difference in their lives. To accomplish this goal, I work to make class activities engaging, relevant, and applicable to life outside of the classroom.
My husband, Warren, also teaches at Centennial High School. We have two children: Ryan, age 17, and Ara, age 13. When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, kick-boxing, and being outdoors.
If you have a question, don't hesistate to contact me. The school number is 965-9610, and my email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
