Ms. Teresa Lawler
Language Arts Teacher & Speech Coach
I am very proud to be an educator; I can't imagine a more rewarding or challenging career. I am a graduate of Buena Vista University, class of 1984. I majored in English with a minor in speech.
I started teaching in the Ankeny district in the fall of 2007 and I'm thrilled to be teaching at Centennial. I teach the following classes: AP Language and Composition, Introduction to Classic Film, and Fundamentals of Communication. As far as extracurricular activities, I am the individual events (IE) speech coach and GSA advisor. (These are amazing groups to join!)
Before arriving in Ankeny, I taught for fourteen years at Jefferson-Scranton, two in Melcher-Dallas, and five in Carroll. My co-curricular activities included coaching large group speech, individual speech, Interact, student council, yearbook, and cheerleading.
I completed my master's degree at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville in 1997. I achieved National Board Certification in 2004 in Adolescence & Young Adulthood/English Language Arts.
I am generally available before school starting at 7:15 am, during fifth hour, and after school until 5:00. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
