Tracie Backstrom

Hello!!

I am Tracie Backstrom and I am a Strat II-ID special education teacher at Prairie Ridge Middle School. I spent the last 15 years of my career teaching in Des Moines Public Schools, and this is my first year with Ankeny Schools! I got my undergraduate degree at Simpson College and took my Masters classes at Upper Iowa University and Drake University. In my career I have taught kindergarten and first grade, was a Literacy Instructional coach, Reading Recovery teacher, and Autism cluster teacher. I know I have the best job in the world :)

I live in Ankeny with my 12 year old daughter and 9 year old son. We enjoy reading together, listening to music/dancing, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes!
