Hello! My name is Eric Cogdill and I teach Algebra 2, both with and without Honors, at Centennial High School. I began my teaching career in 2004, came to in Ankeny Northview in 2012, and Ankeny Centennial in 2017. During my time at Northview, I taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and Honors Algebra II in both the prior text series and the current CPM textbook. Prior to Ankeny, I taught at Belmond-Klemme and Ames covering a wide-range of courses which included 7th grade math, pre-algebra, general math, consumer math, Algebra ABC, Algebra 1, Informal Geometry, Formal Geometry, Algebra 2, Advanced Algebra 2, Trig/Pre-Calc, and college credit Statistics through NIACC.
I am also the head coach for girls cross country and an assistant coach for girls track (distance) both at Ankeny Centennial High School. I have also previously been a head coach for volleyball, boys basketball, and girls track.
I graduated high school from Boyer Valley in Dunlap, IA where I was a 17-time letter-winner and a State of Iowa Scholar. I graduated from Iowa State University in 2003 with a B.S. degree in Mathematics and was recognized at ISU as the top graduating senior in Mathematics.
I am looking forward to continued service to the wonderful community of Ankeny for many years to come and your student's success is very important to me. I am available for extra help before school and during my planning periods (6th and 8th). Or, your student may seek additional help in SOS after school with peer tutors and available teachers.
