Mr. Mark McGaffin

7 Platinum US History

Welcome to Parkview Middle School and the Platinum team! I am very excited for the new school year to begin and to meet you. I hope you had a great summer break and I look forward to the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. My name is Mr. McGaffin and I teach seventh grade American History on the Maroon team. I graduated from Simpson College located in Indianola, Ia. Overall this is my 19th year teaching but my twelth year teaching here in the Ankeny School District. In my free time I enjoy competing in all kinds of sports, travelling, and spending time with my wife, 11 year old daughter (Avery), and my 9 year old son (Kellen). I am also a big Iowa Hawkeye fan. I entered the teaching profession because I enjoy working with kids and teaching them the skills that will help them be successful in life. Please let me know if you ever have any questions.
