Ankeny High School Teacher Rosana Brewer Honored as IWLA 2024 Educator of the Year
The Iowa World Language Association (IWLA) proudly announces that Rosana Brewer, a Spanish teacher at Ankeny High School, has been awarded the 2024 IWLA Educator of the Year. This esteemed recognition highlights Ms. Brewer’s exemplary contributions to world language education, her active engagement with IWLA, and her role as a leader in the field.
The Educator of the Year Award celebrates teachers who demonstrate excellence in language teaching, leadership, and commitment to advancing world language education. Ms. Brewer received this honor at the 2024 IWLA Annual Conference luncheon on October 5, held at the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Ankeny.
Ms. Brewer was chosen for her dedication to setting high academic standards and for her innovative approach to language teaching. Known for integrating novels and advanced teaching strategies into her curriculum, she enriches her students’ learning experiences. As a trilingual educator fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, she serves as an inspiring language-learning role model.
