Seven Southview students have been selected to the South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (SCIBA) District 8th Grade Honor Band.
Selected for the blue band (top ensemble) were:
Clara Freese-trombone and Francesca Elia-clarinet
Selected for the white band (second ensemble) were: Anna Van Der Weide-trumpet, Bennett Olkiewicz- trombone, Andrew Peterson- percussion, Ivana Kyande-bari saxophone , and Angelina Hemphill-oboe.
In addition, Francesca Elia on clarinet (middle) selected to represent the Ankeny school district and Southview at the All State-Iowa eighth grade band in May. This is the highest honor an 8th grade instrumentalist can receive in the state!
