As part of annual Law Day, the Polk County Bar Association partners with ARAG (a legal insurance company) each year to give students in Polk County a chance to get creative with the law. Students in grades K through 12 are invited to compete in the visual arts, music, essay, and poetry categories.
The American Bar Association chooses a theme for Law Day to help foster education and a deeper understanding of the legal system. This year’s theme, Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society— focuses on these cornerstones of representative government and calls on us to understand and protect these rights to ensure, as the U.S. Constitution proposes, “the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity.”
