The Ankeny Marching Hawks will join award-winning bands from across the globe in a one-of-a-kind experience during the "Thanksgiving Parade of Bands" at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Bands participating include:
Ankeny High School Marching Hawks from Ankeny, Iowa
Bay Port High School Marching Band from Green Bay, Wisconsin
Chagrin Falls High School Marching Band from Chagrin Falls, Ohio
Elgin High School Pride of Elgin from Elgin, Illinois
Hampshire High School Marching Band from Hampshire, Illinois
Northview High School Marching Knights from Brazil, Indiana
Bands work with nationally recognized collegiate and Drum Corps International directors, as well as the Presidio Brass, to prepare a custom-arranged mass band performance for thousands of park guests at Disney's Epcot. The participants enjoy the opportunity to collaborate with other bands and professional musicians in a non-competitive format.
The Hawks will also participate in “You’re Instrumental,” a Disney Performing Arts Workshop. The group will examine the skills, attitudes and priorities essential to musical excellence and culminate with a very special finale: a recording of the ensemble performing Disney music accompanied by footage from a classic Disney animated film.
