Fourth graders in Jodi Meyer’s class took a clear position for a Second Continental Congress reenactment. Students researched the Loyalist or Patriot perspective to debate the question, “Should the colonies be independent from Great Britain?” Then the sides participated in a debate, where each side presented opening arguments, solid reasons with evidence and closing arguments.
