ANKENY, Iowa (May 23, 2016) - The Des Moines Register has named two Ankeny Centennial golfers Karlie Kerrigan, senior, and Tenley Moretti, sophomore to its All-Iowa class 5A team.
For decades, the Register has unveiled annual all-state teams in
football, volleyball, and boys' and girls' basketball. Just recently,
they announced they are expanding coverage to include 21 All-Iowa Sports
Awards teams for boys and girls.
The program will recognize
athletes from all across Iowa and will be selected by the Register’s
staff, with input from coaches around the state.
will host an All-Iowa Sports Awards banquet to recognize the athletes
and their families. The inaugural banquet takes place June 18 at the
Iowa Events Center in Des Moines with keynote speaker five-time NFL MVP
and Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning.
