ANKENY, Iowa (December 7, 2016) - The Ankeny Centennial High School dance team took home the state title in Class XIII Pom during
the 40th annual Iowa State Drill Team Association Competition (ISDTA) at
the Iowa Events
This is the team’s second consecutive
first place finish in Pom at the state competition.
"Our team did a wonderful job. The determination, commitment, and dedication the team showed was incredible," said Madison Fontana Zirretta, ACHS dance team coach. "We are very proud to work with such a talented group of young adults."
The team also placed second in Class IV Kick, third in Class IV Lyrical, and earned a Distinguished Academic Achievement
Award for earning a GPA of over 3.5 for the 2015-2016 school year.
addition, Ankeny High School received second in Class XIII Pom and fourth in Class VI Jazz.
