ANKENY, Iowa (February 2, 2017) - Ankeny Community Schools has been named 2017 "Best of
Des Moines" School District by the readers of Des Moines Cityview. Every year, Cityview, central Iowa's weekly alternative
newspaper, holds its "Best Of Des Moines" contest to honor people and
businesses throughout the community.
"The Best Of Des Moines awards recognize the hard work of those who
strive to make the Des Moines metro the great community it is today,"
said Ashley Sohl, Cityview Advertising Director. "With innovative ideas, strong
leadership and unique skills, these people have made a difference — and
our readers show their appreciation for that year after year with these
Voting was open from November 2016 to January 2017. Thousands of
voters shared their opinions on everything from the best places to dine,
to the best places to shop.
The Cityview staff hand counts the votes and determines the winner
and two runners up. Waukee and West Des Moines are this year's runners up in
the Best School District category.
