Ankeny's Dance Marathon

ANKENY, Iowa (February 6, 2017) – In just six hours, students from Ankeny High School and Ankeny Centennial High School raised $18,140 for the University of Iowa Children’s Miracle Network Hospital during Ankeny’s third annual Mini Dance Marathon.
On Saturday, February 4, students danced the night away and participated in games like Trivia Crack, hot-shot basketball, inflatables, giant Jenga, and karaoke.
"Student council spent countless hours organizing the Dance Marathon and we had many participants work countless hours raising money," said Sylvia Wineland, event organizer and AHS teacher. "We are blessed knowing that we raised money for a cause bigger than ourselves."

In the last three years, Ankeny's Dance Marathon has raised more than $72,000.
