You Be The Chemist Challenge

ANKENY, Iowa (March 5, 2018) - Sixty Ankeny students participated in the You Be The Chemist local challenge at Prairie Ridge Middle School on Saturday, March 3.  Twenty-three students qualified for the state competition at Iowa State University on April 7.  The top-ranking particpant from the state competition will advance to the national competition in June to compete against top individuals from each state. 

 

The You Be The Chemist Challenge is an interactive, academic contest focusing on chemistry concepts and real-world applications for students in fifth through eighth grade. The challenge gives schools, educators and community partners the opportunity to show their support for STEM education.
