Fifth-Grade District-Wide Reading Relays

Sixty-two teams and about 248 students across all Ankeny elementary schools competed for a spot in the fifth-grade district-wide Reading Relays competition.  Sixteen teams qualified for the competition at Westwood Elementary on Saturday, April 7.  Students answered questions in a quiz bowl format about the 24 books they had been reading and studying.  Prairie Trail Elementary won the traveling trophy. Prairie Trail teams are coached by teacher librarian, Corissa Thompson.  This is Prairie Trail’s first time winning the trophy.

"We are very proud of all students in Ankeny who chose to participate in this challenging event," said Thompson.
